Probably, what i am about to write here is a sequel to our dear Sister Dorcas' post that was advertised in The Star newspaper.
Malaysia is a country where i was born. I have great affection in this very country. On the day where i had to leave this country to further my studies in Australia, i knew that i was going to Australia to broaden my experience in studying overseas. However, i can't help but feel how blessed I am to be born in Malaysia. I definitely miss Malaysia. I have heard many negative feedbacks from many of my Malaysian friends in Australia, some claiming that they do not want to go back to their home country anymore due to all the political turmoil, but for me, Malaysia will always be deep down remembered in my heart no matter what condition it is.
Malaysia has given me so much, in terms of making friendships not only with people from the same race, but also with other races and religion. I feel that i am so blessed living in Malaysia because it is a very unique country, where we celebrate different festivals every year, such as Chinese New Year, Hari Raya and Deepavali. Not to mention our hangouts at mamak and also at coffee shop like Old Town really makes me feel comfortable in Malaysia.
Malaysia also provides freedom of worship like no other country. We, as Christians, are able to go to church every Sunday, not needing to worry what will happen to us, unlike countries in the Middle East, where people have to secretly worship God without anyone knowing. God has been so good to Malaysia, and He has been doing wonderful works in the country.
I can say for sure, I will be back in Malaysia after i complete my degree in Australia. I feel that I want to do God's work back home and try to minister to as many people as possible about Christ.
